Tickets may be purchased in advance for $25 at Barron's Books - McCann and the Loop and Texas Bank and Trust - downtown branch. Tickets for blocks of 8 will be delivered. Tickets are also available by mailing the Ticket Form along with payment. Groups of 8 may request a reserved table. A very limited number of tickets will be available the day of the event, so it is important to purchase your tickets in advance to be assured of admittance.

  Presenters will deliver pertinent information to enhance the personal and business lives of women and will provide opportunities for interaction among participants. Each presentation will contain specific information to help you recognize and develop your full potential on your journey through life performing daily your many roles as a woman.The hardest part of the day will be choosing which one to attend!
 
 
   "The SWELL Principle: A Guide to Being Financilly Fit at Any Age"--Gain the financial savvy to obtain the security we all hope for. This informative session will be presented by Mitzi Bjork and Charlotte Anderson, Financial Advisors; and, Chan Turner and Lori Sirman, Senior Vice Presidents Texas Bank and Trust.
   "Empowered Women"--Dr. Julie Fowler, chief administrative officer of Kilgore College Longview Campus will discuss women who have become empowered through education and how to access educational opportunities for one's own empowerment.
   "Having Your Voice Heard"--Is there an issue that just gets your ire up? You can't understand why someone doesn't "do something"? This is the seminar for you. Judge Robin Sage will discuss avenues of community and political involvement. Joining her will be Kelly Heitcamp, an animal rights activist;and local, state and nationwide representatives from both local Democratic and Republican parties. Learn how you can get involved and make a difference in the community where you live.

Kathy L. Patrick

 
Kathy L. Patrick is the owner of Beauty and the Book,the ONLY Hair Salon/Bookstore in the country and the founder of the 500+ Pulpwood Queens Book Club, the largest "meeting and discussing" book club in the world. Her book club has been featured on everything from Oprah Winfrey's OXYGEN NETWORK, The Oprah Winfrey Show to kicking off Diane Sawyer and Charlie Gipson's READ THIS Book Club on Good Morning America. Kathy has been featured also in The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Houston Press, Houston Chronicle, The Dallas Morning News and Bloomberg Business Week.
Kathy is the youth leader for the First United Methodist Church and was featured as a past Methodist of the Month with United Methodist Communications. She is the Literary and New Generations chair for the Rotary Club of Jefferson and was recently featured district wide as Rotarian of the Week.
This past year Kathy debuted her NEW Beauty and the Book Show sponsored by Random House Publishing and is currently in negotitations for her own Drama/Comedy Television Series to be called Beauty and the Book.
She currently finished her first One Act Play, "Oh, the Drama and the Glamour" and is working on her first novel to be called "EUREKA!".
Kathy lives just outside of her hometown historic Jefferson, Texas with her husband Jay, and high school senior Madeleine. Their oldest daughter is just about to graduate from The University of Texas in Tyler.
